Preparing for launch…
An installable envelope-budgeting app where your money data never leaves your device — no accounts, no server, no subscription. Rebrand-and-resell licence included.

Every budgeting app wants two things you shouldn't have to give it: your bank credentials and $9 a month, forever. PocketLedger is the other philosophy — a real, installable envelope-budgeting app where all data lives in your browser's local storage. No accounts, no server, no analytics, no network calls. There is nothing to breach and nobody to subscribe to. The method is classic envelope budgeting: set the month's expected income, give every dollar a job across envelopes (Rent, Groceries, Transport… rename and add freely), then log spending against them. Progress bars turn amber near the line and red past it, and when life overruns an envelope you move money between envelopes — the honest version of borrowing from Fun money, with the month's totals kept true. New months carry your envelope plan forward automatically; the month-end Review shows which envelopes held and which lied, so next month's budget is a better guess. Logging is a five-second habit (amount, envelope, note, date) — or skip the typing: import your bank's CSV weekly and let keyword rules auto-sort transactions into envelopes (woolworths = Groceries). The import understands standard AU bank exports, only imports the month you're viewing, and previews everything before anything lands. Backup is one tap: your entire history as a single JSON file, restorable on any device. It installs like a real app — add to home screen on a phone, install from the browser on desktop — and works offline once installed. Under the hood it's ~600 lines of commented vanilla JavaScript, three files, no frameworks, no build step. And the licence is the quiet headline: PocketLedger ships Ready-to-Brand. The included rebranding guide walks the full rebrand (name, colours, icon, storage namespace) in about twenty minutes, and your licence covers selling the rebranded app as your own product — including the niche-it-down playbook that makes that work. The live demo is the real app with three months of sample data; everything you test is exactly what you get.
- index.html, app.js, styles.css — the complete app (~600 lines of commented vanilla JS; APP_CONFIG block + :root tokens are the rebrand surface) - sw.js + manifest.webmanifest — the PWA layer: offline support and home-screen install - icon.svg, icon-192.png, icon-512.png — app icons, regenerable when you rebrand - README-setup.md — run it in 10 seconds, host it in 2 minutes, the five-minute budgeting start, and the backup discipline - rebranding-guide.md — the twenty-minute rebrand, the ship checklist, licence ground rules, and three selling models including niching down - csv-import-guide.md — formats, keyword rules, per-bank notes (AU), and the importer's honest limitations
- Bank feeds or account sync — deliberately: feeds need credentials and a server, the two things this app exists to not have (the CSV loop is ~2 minutes a week) - Cross-device sync — data is device-local; the JSON backup/restore moves it when you need to - Income/net-worth tracking — it budgets spending against a monthly income figure; it is not an accounts app - Hosting (any free static host works; the README covers three)
- Any modern browser; runs straight from the files or from any static host - HTTPS hosting for the install-to-home-screen and offline features (free tiers are fine) - No Node, no build tools, no database
1. Double-click index.html — the app runs immediately from your file system. 2. Set the month's expected income, then budget the starter envelopes until "To budget" reaches zero — that's the envelope method in one sentence. 3. Log spending as it happens (+ button), or set keyword rules in Settings and import your bank CSV weekly. 4. When an envelope runs dry, use Move money — don't stop logging. 5. Host the folder on any static host (drag-and-drop on Netlify) and install it to your phone's home screen. 6. Settings → Download backup, monthly. Local-first means the backup habit is yours.
Personal use plus Ready-to-Brand commercial licence. Personal: run, host and modify the app for yourself and your household. Ready-to-Brand: rebrand it (name, design, icon, copy) and sell the rebranded app as your own product, keeping 100% of revenue — no royalties, no attribution required. You may not resell or redistribute it unrebranded, or list the source itself as a template/code product. One licence per selling brand.
14-day refund if the product is materially not as described in this listing or its demo. The demo is the complete app with sample data — test every feature before buying. Refunds are not offered for change of mind. Open a refund request from your Launchstock library and we will respond within 2 business days. An approved refund ends your licence to the product — you must delete all copies of the files and stop using them.
Email support (hello@ledgerandline.com) for 3 months from purchase, replies within one business day. Covers setup, hosting, the CSV import and the rebranding guide on unmodified code. Custom feature development is available as paid work.
